About the event
The Six Blocks Project will be held in Tempe, Arizona, on Sunday, February 1, 2026. This march will commemorate the historic 1965 Selma-to-Montgomery marches, with a special focus on the day known as Bloody Sunday. This route honors the first six blocks of the original Selma march, linking past and present as we honor the bravery of civil rights activists who faced brutal resistance.
The march will begin at the iconic Mill Ave Bridge and concludes at Ragsdale – MLK Park. Attendees will experience interactive installations that blend history and art, fostering a space for remembrance and creative expression.
This FREE, all-ages event celebrates history, culture, and community. Engage, learn, and connect as we honor the past and inspire a future of justice and equality.
